Street/park orienteering is back

Take advantage of the more relaxed Covid-19 restrictions and get some fresh air. Park and Street Orienteering is a fun, social way to give your body and mind a great workout. Park and Street Orienteering is enjoyed by hundreds of people of all ages and abilities, from toddlers to eighty-somethings, from elite athletes to social strollers. Be as competitive or as casual as you like. Walk or run; compete individually or in a group.

Our summer series of twilight events for 2021-22 will be held each Wednesday evening throughout November and February. Start times will be from 5 to 6 pm with a 45 minute time limit.

The format for these events will be a little different from previous years. Up to 20 controls will be scattered over the map and you will have 45 minutes to score as many points as possible. In some cases all controls will be of equal value; in others some controls may be worth more points than others. There will also be penalties for returning late.

No physical control markers will be used. Instead you will use the MapRun app on a GPS-enabled phone to track your route and record the controls visited.

Entry fees

Fees for these events will be $5 per event regardless of age and whether individual or group.

For the first time at our events fees can be paid by credit card or cash at the event
