Special eventsSchools ChampionshipsEach year the Orienteering Club conducts the Armidale Outdoors Schools Orienteering for schools in the Armidale region. These events, usually held in late October, attract around 800 students from years 3 to 10 from about a dozen participating local schools. Many schools conduct, with the assistance of Club members, lead-up events for their students, so it is a great way of promoting orienteering as a sport in schools. Other eventsThe Orienteering Club is always interested in hearing from special groups such as volunteer rescue groups, scouts, bushwalking clubs, University or church groups and so on who would like to do an orienteering exercise. Such groups should contact the club to see what can be offered. |
