All state orienteering associations, member clubs, and personnel are required to provide a safe environment for children and young people participating in Orienteering activities.
To this end, Orienteering Australia has published a Child Safety code of conduct that sets out the guiding principles and requirements to be observed when conducting orienteering activities.
In addition, it is a legal requirement for anyone who works or volunteers in child-related activities in NSW to have a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC). It is expected that all adults working with children will record their WWCC with the ONSW Development Officer Coordinator and/or Child Safety Officer. See here for contact details.
